How Deal and Coupon Sites Work (and Why They Are Free for You)

By the ZuVoCo team ยท Updated October 2026

A plain-language explanation of affiliate marketing, tracking links and why using a deal site does not increase the price you pay.

The short answer

Deal and coupon platforms like ZuVoCo partner with online stores through affiliate programmes. When you visit a store through a partner link and complete a purchase, the store pays the platform a small commission for referring you. You pay exactly the same price you would pay by visiting the store directly.

That commission is how coupon sites stay free to use, and on ZuVoCo it is also what funds Participation Rewards for signed-in members.

What a tracking link does

A tracking link is a normal web address with an extra reference attached. It tells the store which partner sent the visitor. It does not give the partner access to your card details, your password or your order contents.

Tracking usually relies on a cookie that lasts for a limited time. If you clear cookies or switch to another browser before buying, the visit may not be credited โ€” but your price and order are unaffected.

Why some purchases are not counted

Stores define their own rules. Purchases may be excluded if they are cancelled or returned, paid fully with gift cards, placed through a different app, or made in a category the store does not reward. This is why rewards on any deal platform are shown as pending until the store confirms the order.

At ZuVoCo, rewards move from pending to withdrawable only after the partner network confirms the purchase. Guest browsing never earns rewards because there is no account to credit.

How to recognise a trustworthy deal site

Look for a clear company name, a published privacy policy, a way to delete your account and a real contact address. ZuVoCo is operated by Tabularise Technologies India Private Limited, and all of these pages are linked at the bottom of every page.
