The Big Sale Shopping Checklist: Prepare Before the Countdown
By the ZuVoCo team · Updated October 2026
How to plan for festive and season-end sales in India — wishlists, price history, bank offers and avoiding impulse buys.
Make a wishlist a week early
Big sales such as festive events, season-end clearances and brand anniversary sales move fast. The shoppers who save the most decide what they need before the sale starts. Add those items to the store wishlist so you can see the price change the moment the sale goes live.
Write down the normal price of each item today. That single number protects you from “discounts” that are calculated from an inflated original price.
Know which bank offers apply
Sale-time bank offers are often the biggest discount available, sometimes larger than the sale price cut itself. Check which cards or UPI apps the store has partnered with, the minimum transaction value and the maximum discount cap.
If your card is not eligible, compare the final price with a different store that may have a partnership with your bank.
Keep payment and address ready
Save your delivery address and preferred payment method in advance. Limited-quantity deals can sell out while you are typing an address.
Keep your account logged in on the device you will use, and update the store app the day before the sale so you are not stuck installing an update at midnight.
Avoid the impulse trap
Countdown timers and “only 2 left” banners are designed to make you decide quickly. If an item was not on your list, give yourself ten minutes before buying it. Most sales last several days, and the same deal often returns.
Read the return policy for sale items. Some categories become non-returnable during sales, which matters for clothes and shoes where size is uncertain.
