Buying Electronics Online: How to Spot a Genuine Deal

By the ZuVoCo team · Updated October 2026

How to compare electronics prices, read specifications, use bank offers and exchange deals, and avoid fake discounts.

Compare the exact model number

Two laptops or phones with the same name can have different processors, storage or warranty terms. Always compare the full model number across stores. A lower price on a lower variant is not a deal.

Check whether the seller is the brand or an authorised retailer, as this affects warranty service.

Bank offers and no-cost EMI

For electronics, bank card discounts are frequently larger than coupon codes. No-cost EMI can be useful, but read the processing fee and check whether the discount is reversed into interest. Divide the total payable by the number of months and compare it with the one-time price.

Exchange offers

Exchange values depend on the condition and age of your old device and are confirmed only at pickup. Treat the estimated value as a maximum, not a guarantee, and keep the original box and charger to get the best price.

Protect your purchase

Record a short unboxing video for expensive items. It makes damage claims much easier. Register the product with the brand to activate warranty, and keep the invoice in your email.
